The {Serenity} Project – Snow Day

It snowed last week for the first time this winter.  We weren’t supposed to get very much as the storm’s path was predicted to go further east of us, but when we woke up on Saturday morning we had a nice surprise of about 4-6 inches of snow on the ground.

It was also the first time it’s snowed since my husband bought his 4 wheel drive truck and he wanted to see how it went in the snow.  So I hopped in the passenger side with my camera and proceeded to tell him where I wanted to go look for some photo opportunities.  🙂  (Another win-win)

We went out fairly early and I think it was a little too early because it was still snowing quite heavily and the skies were grey.  It was beautiful, but I found it difficult to shoot any worthwhile landscapes.  I did however find this church with it’s reddish trim contrasting nicely with the swirling snow.

The woods beside the church were beautifully covered in snow.

We went back home to wait out the snow a little while, then I ventured out by myself when the snow stopped and the sun was trying to make it’s way out.  This is the time where I find my serenity.

Eventually the sun came out altogether and the blue sky against the white snow was perfection.

The Serenity Project is collective blog consisting of members who strive for all things serene.  This month is no exception in finding serenity all around us in this world.  My talented friend Jennifer Carr is next in line.  Follow the circle around to see what she has to share this month.
