When we took a long weekend trip to Tybee Island, GA late this summer, we happened to be there on Sept 11 – the anniversary of 9/11. Our B&B was within walking distance to the Tybee Island Lighthouse so we made our way down the street for a visit.
I was pleasantly surprised to see our American flag draped from the top of the lighthouse for this day of remembrance. It seemed so proud and majestic billowing in the wind next to such a stately structure.
It was a beautiful sight indeed.
