The {Serenity} Project – Pretty Place

They call it “Pretty Place”.  The formal name is the Fred W. Symmes Chapel.  It’s located on private property owned by the YMCA Camp Greenville in Greenville, SC.  Even though it’s on private property it warmly welcomes visitors to enjoy it’s beauty if there is no events scheduled that day.

I had seen pictures of this place before, but had not actually visited.  Some good friends of mine, sensing I’d had a particularly stressful day, took me to this place – without telling me first where we were going, but that I needed to take my camera.  My excitement grew just before we arrived, as I realized where they were taking me.

Serenity is such a perfect word to describe this place.  Immediately, all your stresses wash away after entering the chapel and seeing that view.  These were wise and thoughtful friends that took me there.  When we reluctantly had to leave, all my stresses from earlier in the day were long, long gone.
