Viewpoints – My {Edenton, NC} View

I’m finally getting around to blogging about our mini-trip to Edenton, NC back in April.  It was a wonderful couple days of just relaxing and walking the streets in this small historic town.

We stayed in a beautiful bed and breakfast called The Granville Queen Inn.  I love the character of old and stately homes.  The rooms were so pretty! Breakfast was served either in a dining room or an open screened porch.   We picked the screen porch, of course.  I can never remember to photograph the little details (I need to work on that!), but I did snap a picture of the front of the inn.

They were full for the weekend… no vacancy.

It was a short walk to the historic district.  There were lots of quaint shops to explore and a yummy bakery that we may or may not have visited more than once.  🙂  In the middle of the district was the Cupola House.  It was one of the towns more historic homes and had an amazing garden to explore.

The historic district borders the waterfront of Edenton Bay.  I’m not used to seeing trees growing out of the water, but they sure made interesting images.

The harbor included some beautiful boats.

The most beautiful site was the Roanoke River Lighthouse right on the water.

Since we were there for 2 nights, I wanted to make sure I got an image of the lighthouse at sunset.  The first night didn’t produce a very interesting sunset, but the 2nd night was stunning!

Beautiful little town and I’m glad we got to stay for a day or two.
