Viewpoints – My {Tybee Island} View

Our recent trip to Tybee Island was wonderful!  Situated on a small island just 20 miles from Savannah, GA, this quiet ocean community was just what we needed for a few days of relaxation.  There’s not much activity here –  it looked to be mostly residential, but the restaurants we found were amazing!

True to form, I forgot to take a picture of the outstanding B&B we stayed at during our time on the island.  I’ve GOT to get better at shooting more details when I travel!!  It was a truly beautiful Victorian style home with a wrap around porch that was pure heaven!  We spent quite a bit of time on that porch just relaxing, reading and soaking in the gentle warm breeze from the ocean.

I woke up early enough on two mornings for sunrise.  I’ve shared some of those pictures HERE and HERE.  I also took this shot during sunrise just before a couple decided to climb into the seat and make it their spot for watching the sunrise.

I captured this just before the skies opened up to some very large raindrops.  It didn’t last long, but did send me running for cover for a few minutes.

During the day we investigated the area and visited the islands huge pier.  Roaming in and around the pier I found several interesting images to capture.

And I LOVED this lifeguard station!

There was another smaller pier on the other side of the island that was perfect for sunset.  Unfortunately sunset conditions didn’t materialize but I was able to capture this shot when we visited the spot during the day.  Come to find out the chairs and umbrella were the site of a marriage proposal later that day.  🙂

It was such a wonderful getaway.   I still have more images to edit and hopefully can share those real soon!
