Hello!

Welcome to Kathleen Roberts Photography. I’m Kathleen, or Kathy for short. Except I’m tall. Which makes it really easy to reach the top shelf in the grocery store, but that’s about it.

I’m on this photography journey and it’s been one of my favorite things. I love photographing landscapes and nature. Simple and organic is what I strive for in my art.

I love waking up early in the morning and driving to a nearby spot to watch the sunrise. It’s truly the best time of day for the perfect combination of quiet and beauty.

As much as I love landscapes, I can get equally excited about a variety of genre’s including street photography and wildlife. The city of Asheville and it’s people are prime inspirations for my street work. The abundance of wildlife in these mountains provide many opportunities to shoot bears, fox, coyotes (though I’ve never seen one except on my wildlife cam), raccoons, hedgehogs, deer, birds and those all too pesky squirrels.

I have lived in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville all my life. I live with my husband of 37 years, Gary. My two children Kevin and Jenny live nearby with their wonderful spouses.

My work was exhibited at the Phil Mechanic Studio in the River Arts District of Asheville for the month of March in 2014. In June of that same year, my image titled “Seat’s Taken” was chosen from over 8,000 entries as a finalist in the Click Community’s 2014 VOICE competition in the Street Photography category.
